I ran 12 miles total, with a 2 mile warm-up, then a 4x1 mile interval with 1 mile easy between intervals. I had a goal pace of 8 minute miles, which is still faster than my half-marathon pace, but it's my current BQ pace. I wanted to see how I felt at this pace at my current weight, and then see how much different the effort seems once I lose some weight. The early intervals were not too hard, but the last one ended up a bit slower. I started the interval on a slight upgrade, and fell behind and never caught up. I was pretty much struggling the last few 100 yards. I missed the 8 minute by 7 seconds.
I find that on days where I do a long run, I don't feel very hungry. I've actually done this two weeks in a row where I end up eating less than days when I'm resting. Since I'm actively trying to shed some more pounds, I just roll with it. I don't think I'm in danger of having an eating disorder!
